US MedTrans™ Signs with Leading Medical Organization
US MedTrans™ has signed an agreement with MedAssets HSCA to offer transcription services to their 17,000 MedAssets HSCA' member community. US MedTrans™ is a leading provider of digital medical transcription and MedAssets HSCA is one of the nation's largest independent group purchasing organizations (GPO).
Under the terms of the agreement, MedAssets HSCA members, including physicians, clinics and hospitals, can purchase US MedTrans' medical transcription services under fixed pricing programs. The US MedTrans service offerings will range from a total outsourcing of a healthcare organization's transcription needs to staff augmentation programs providing service to cover employee vacancies, sick and vacation absences, as well as overflow for high volume days.
The US MedTrans approach allows users to quickly dictate and electronically transfer digital files to an established network of quality transcribers. Physicians begin the process by dictating patient records using a digital recording device or into a toll-free phone system. These voice files are distributed to a network of experienced transcriptionists via a secure, encrypted, virtual private network. Within 24 hours, patient reports are transcribed and placed back on a secure web site for client download. Reports are stored in a confidential, secure, HIPAA compliant online environment for two years.
“ US MedTrans has the demonstrated the ability to deliver high-quality, easy-to-use, timely, and affordable medical transcription to its customers,” stated Mark Miriani, Vice President of MedAssets HSCA's Materials Management Division. “We are impressed with the outstanding service extended by US MedTrans to its user group, and are confident they will extend the same highly regarded service level to our membership.”
Mark Helwege, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for US MedTrans is extremely optimistic about the partnership and welcomes the opportunity to deliver quality and affordable medical transcription services to MedAssets HSCA members. “This relationship is a solid win for both of our organizations. We now have a means to reach a large membership organization with a technology based service offering that will save the physician and their staffs time and money.” This service provides MedAssets HSCA with a value-added service offering that allows them to further strengthen their ties with their members. “Value added services will provide them with a real differentiation in the marketplace,” Helwege said.
This service offering was made available to all member organizations effective January 1, 2004
